Palworld's Japanese Twitter (X) account addressed the situation, stating the game's PS5 release was available in 68 countries and regions but not Japan. They apologized for the delay and confirmed that a Japanese release date remains undetermined. The team pledged to bring the game to Japanese PS5 users as soon as possible.

While Pocketpair hasn't explicitly stated the reason for the delay, it's widely believed to be directly related to the patent infringement lawsuit filed by Nintendo in a Tokyo court. This lawsuit seeks injunctions and damages, potentially impacting Palworld's continued operation and availability. A granted injunction could lead to the game's removal from the market entirely.
