Finnish game developer Supercell has made a surprising announcement. Following the cancellation of their RPG, Clash Heroes, they're reviving the concept in a completely new form: Project R.I.S.E.

The Scoop:

Clash Heroes is officially discontinued. However, its core elements are being reborn as Project R.I.S.E., a social action RPG roguelite within the familiar Clash universe.

Supercell's announcement video features game lead Julien Le Cadre stating that while Clash Heroes is gone, Project R.I.S.E. is a multiplayer-focused action RPG.

Project R.I.S.E. shares similarities with Clash Heroes but is a completely new development. Players will team up in groups of three to explore The Tower, a mysterious location with procedurally generated floors. The objective is to climb as high as possible. Unlike its predecessor, the emphasis is on cooperative gameplay with a diverse roster of characters, rather than solo PvE dungeon crawling.

Currently in pre-alpha, Project R.I.S.E. is slated for its first playtest in early July 2024. Registration for a chance to participate is open on the official website.
