Pikmin Bloom Celebrates 3.5 Years with Retro Nintendo Console Theme
Pikmin Bloom is gearing up for an exciting 3.5th anniversary celebration next month, and Niantic is pulling out all the stops by reintroducing some nostalgic gadgets to the game. The festivities are set to begin with a new event starting on May 1st, 2025.
The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!
Over the years, Pikmin Bloom has delighted players with a variety of fun decor, including Pikmin adorned with Mahjong Tiles and Playing Cards. For its 3.5th anniversary, the game is taking a nostalgic leap back to the classic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s.
A special addition to the anniversary event is the Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin, a tribute to Nintendo's origins in the playing card industry before they ventured into video games. The designs of these cards are inspired by Nintendo's vintage playing card decks.
The event will run from May 1st to May 31st, 2025, providing a full month for players to engage in event missions and collect unique new Pikmin. Completing Event Challenge missions will reward players with random items such as Game Button Cells, seedlings that can grow into Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.
During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will appear, and smashing them will yield Mystery Boxes containing items like Game Button Cells, flower petals, and more. The Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 and Playing Card Decor Pikmin are particularly effective at tackling these mushrooms.
Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May
May brings the opportunity to cultivate special flowers in Pikmin Bloom. By planting red, yellow, white, or blue petals around them, players can help these flowers bloom into carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or anniversary roses.
Additionally, a nectar update will be introduced, allowing fruit from mushrooms harvested in May to provide nectar for regular flowers, as well as special blooms like carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.
The anniversary celebration includes other exciting events like Community Day. Make sure to download Pikmin Bloom from the Google Play Store and get ready for the 3.5th anniversary festivities.
