Pirate Software has been expelled from the World of Warcraft streamer guild, OnlyFangs, following a disastrous run in Dire Maul North. This incident, which took place on the recently introduced Anniversary servers of World of Warcraft, resulted in the Hardcore deaths of guild members Sara and Snupy.

Before the official launch of Hardcore servers in August 2023, players adhered to self-imposed zero-death rules. The introduction of Hardcore servers saw a decline in player interest until the Anniversary servers revitalized the game in November 2024. These servers have reinvigorated the World of Warcraft Classic community, leading to a significant drop in the population of the original Classic servers. Since their inception, the Anniversary servers have witnessed numerous Hardcore player deaths, yet some have successfully reached level 60 under these stringent conditions.

The incident that led to Pirate Software's removal from OnlyFangs occurred during a Dire Maul North run. The group, including Pirate Software, encountered trouble after pulling a boss before clearing a pack of Gordok ogres. When a party member suggested retreating to reset the enemies, Pirate Software chose to abandon the group during their escape. This decision directly contributed to the deaths of Sara and Snupy. Despite the guild's usual leniency, Pirate Software's refusal to acknowledge his role in the mishap prompted his removal by Guild Master Sodapoppin.

Sodapoppin, in a Discord statement, explained that the majority of OnlyFangs members felt uneasy continuing to play with Pirate Software after the incident. The review of the dungeon run by Sodapoppin highlighted that Pirate Software could have utilized Blizzard rank 1 to manage the situation better, slowing down the enemies without exhausting his mana reserves. Additionally, other guild members like Mizkif have pointed out that Pirate Software's threats to fellow streamers post-incident were a significant factor in his expulsion.

Pirate Software took to Twitter to express his dissatisfaction with how the situation was managed, suggesting that the guild's response was mishandled. As OnlyFangs continues to navigate the challenges of the Anniversary servers, more members have been removed since the guild's recreation on the Doomhowl server. With Blizzard planning to update World of Warcraft Classic with Vanilla-accurate patches, the guild may face further trials as new dungeons and raids are introduced.
