PlayStation Pre-Orders Open Soon in SEA
The PlayStation Portal, Sony's PS5 remote player, is coming soon to Southeast Asia! Following a significant software update addressing Wi-Fi connectivity issues, pre-orders begin August 5th, 2024, for Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand.

- Singapore: Release date: September 4th, 2024; Price: SGD 295.90
- Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand: Release date: October 9th, 2024; Prices: MYR 999, IDR 3,599,000, THB 7,790 respectively.
The PlayStation Portal, previously known as Project Q, offers a portable PS5 gaming experience. Key features include:
- 8-inch LCD screen
- Full HD 1080p display at 60fps
- DualSense wireless controller features (adaptive triggers and haptic feedback)
Sony highlights the Portal's convenience for households sharing a TV or for playing PS5 games in different rooms. The device connects to your PS5 via Wi-Fi.
Improved Wi-Fi Connectivity:
Initial reports indicated suboptimal performance with Wi-Fi connectivity. However, Sony's recent Update 3.0.1 significantly improves this, enabling connection to 5GHz networks and resulting in more stable remote play, as evidenced by positive user feedback. A minimum 5Mbps broadband Wi-Fi connection is still recommended.
