Pokémon GO: Dynamax Arrives!

Max Out Season: September 10th - September 15th

The Max Out Season runs from September 10th, 10:00 a.m. local time, to September 15th, 8:00 p.m. local time. Prepare for colossal encounters! This season introduces Dynamax Pokémon to 1-star Max Battles. Get ready to battle and catch Dynamax versions of Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Skwovet, and Wooloo! These Pokémon, and their evolutions, can be Dynamaxed after capture. Keep an eye out for Shiny variants too!

The fun doesn't stop there! Special Field Research tasks will be available throughout the event, and you can participate in PokéStop Showcases to win rewards by displaying event-themed Pokémon.

A special Seasonal Special Research story will also launch, focusing on Max Battles. Complete the tasks to earn valuable rewards like Max Particles and a new avatar item. This Special Research will be available from September 3rd, 10:00 a.m. local time, to December 3rd, 2024, at 9:59 a.m. local time.

Need a Max Particle boost? An exclusive Max Particle Pack Bundle (4,800 Max Particles) will be available for $7.99 on the official Pokémon GO web store starting September 8th, 6:00 p.m. PDT. These particles are crucial for Dynamax battles.

Rumors are swirling about new Power Spots appearing next month, potentially serving as key locations for Max Battles, Dynamax Pokémon encounters, and Max Particle collection. While Niantic hasn't confirmed this yet, it's certainly exciting speculation!

Pokémon GO senior producer John Funtanilla hinted at some Dynamax-capable Pokémon also being able to Mega Evolve (as reported by Eurogamer). The question of Gigantamax Pokémon remains unanswered, although it was teased at this year's Pokémon Worlds. Niantic promises further details on Dynamax battles soon.
