Dynamax Legendary Birds Take Flight for Three Weeks

Featuring the Legendary Trio: Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres

The towering Dynamax versions of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres will appear in Pokémon GO between January 20 and February 3.

These colossal legendary birds will appear in five-star Max Raids at Power Spots, where trainers battle and attempt to capture these powerful Dynamax Pokémon. Each legendary bird debuts on successive Mondays:

• Dynamax Articuno: January 20
• Dynamax Zapdos: January 27
• Dynamax Moltres: February 3

Following their initial appearances, each legendary bird remains available for an entire week. The event also features "Legendary Flight Timed Research," offering special encounters with Pokémon that may be Shiny, along with bonus Candy and Max Particles to strengthen your team. The Timed Research schedule (local time):

• Dynamax Articuno: January 17 (10:00 AM) - January 20 (7:00 PM) - Encounter Charmander, Beldum, Scorbunny
• Dynamax Zapdos: January 24 (10:00 AM) - January 27 (7:00 PM) - Encounter Drilbur, Cryogonal, Grookey
• Dynamax Moltres: January 31 (10:00 AM) - February 3 (7:00 PM) - Encounter Squirtle, Krabby, Sobble

Victini Returns for Limited Time

Niantic has revealed new details about the global Pokémon GO Tour: Unova event. While in-person participation remains limited, all players can upgrade their free Tour Pass to a Deluxe version for enhanced rewards.

Starting February 24, 2025 at 10:00 AM, all players will receive a free Tour Pass to collect Tour Points and earn rewards until March 2 at 6:00 PM local time.

The Deluxe upgrade offers immediate access to Mythical Pokémon Victini and includes the new Lucky Trinket at the highest tier - an item that temporarily grants Lucky Friends status. This unique status guarantees a Lucky Pokémon (with boosted stats and lower power-up costs) through your next trade.

The Tour Pass Deluxe ($14.99) and Deluxe + 10 Ranks ($19.99) bundles require claiming before their March 9, 2025 expiration.
