Event Details

When is the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event?

The Bug Out event in *Pokemon GO* kicks off on March 26 at 10 AM local time and runs until 8 PM local time on March 30. This five-day event is the perfect opportunity to catch those elusive bug-type Pokemon that would make even Misty nervous. It's also an excellent time for Shiny hunting, with nearly every featured Pokemon having a Shiny variant in *Pokemon GO*.

Featured Wild Pokemon for the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event

During the Bug Out event, the following bug-type Pokemon will be more common in the wild, as announced on the official page:

New Pokemon During the Bug Out Event

Two new Pokemon will make their debut in *Pokemon GO* during the Bug Out event: Sizzlipede and Centiskorch. Evolving Sizzlipede into Centiskorch requires 50 Sizzlipede Candy.

All Pokemon GO Bug Out Event Bonuses

Trainers will enjoy the following bonuses during the Bug Out event:

• Double XP for catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better.
• More Candy for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
• More Candy XL for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws (for Trainers over Level 31).
• Sizzlipede can be attracted with Lure Modules.
• Higher chance of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.
• Additional Pokemon will appear near a lured PokeStop if enough Pokemon are caught using a single Lure Module.

Pokemon GO Bug Out Field Research, Timed Research, & Paid Time Research

Spinning PokeStops during the event will yield event-themed Field Research tasks. Completing these tasks can earn you Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with some of the event's featured Pokemon. Additionally, there will be Timed Research rewards, including a Lure Module and encounters with event Pokemon. The Paid Timed Research offers a Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with event Pokemon. Make sure to complete all research and claim your rewards before the event ends.

Starting with the Bug Out event, new bug-type themed Avatar items will be available in the in-game shop:

Pokemon GO Bug Out Collection Challenges

The Bug Out event includes Collection Challenges featuring event-themed Pokemon. Completing these challenges will reward you with Stardust, XP, and encounters with event-themed Pokemon.
