A potential release date for Pokémon Legends: Z-A has surfaced online, pointing towards an August 15, 2025 launch. This date, initially spotted on Amazon UK in early January 2025 and quickly removed, aligns with The Pokémon Company's previously stated 2025 release window.

Announced during the February 2024 Pokémon Day celebrations, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is the anticipated sequel to 2022's Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Following the exploration-focused gameplay of its predecessor, which prioritized catching Pokémon over traditional gym battles and the Pokémon League, details about Legends: Z-A have remained scarce since its unveiling.

The Amazon UK listing leak, highlighted by content creator Light88, briefly displayed August 15th as the release date before reverting to a December 31st placeholder. This August date fits within the previously announced 2025 release timeframe.

February 2025 Confirmation Possible

While the Amazon leak's accuracy is unconfirmed, the official release date might be revealed soon. Similar to its initial announcement during Pokémon Day 2024, the release date could be unveiled during the 2025 Pokémon Day event, expected on February 27th (the anniversary of the original Japanese Pokémon Red and Green releases). Recent findings by a Pokémon GO dataminer further support this February 27th date for Pokémon Day 2025.

Beyond the release date, fans anticipate a gameplay reveal, potentially debuting at the same February 2025 Pokémon Presents broadcast.

Switch and Switch 2 Compatibility Confirmed

Initially announced as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, Pokémon Legends: Z-A will also be playable on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, thanks to confirmed backward compatibility.
