How to Start Thrown to the Dogs in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

If you pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you'll have the opportunity to embark on a unique quest called Thrown to the Dogs. This quest becomes available as soon as you take control of Naoe and gain access to the open world for the first time.

To begin, follow the quest marker on your map to locate a dog. Follow this canine companion to a farm where your next task is to find a key hidden underneath a house. Once you’ve retrieved the key, return to the gravesite where you initially found the dog. Completing this action will not only mark the quest as finished but also forge a friendship with the dog.

If you're struggling to find the key, look for a small crawlspace at the base of the house. Naoe can go prone and crawl inside to grab it. This can be easy to miss, so keep an eye out.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Preorder Bonuses

Upon completing Thrown to the Dogs, you'll be rewarded with your pre-order bonuses, which include:

• Tsuki-maru as a pet at the Hideout
• 1,000 XP

While the bonuses might seem modest, they have their perks. Tsuki-maru may not have a functional role beyond being an adorable addition to your Hideout, but the 1,000 XP is a significant boost in the early stages of the game. This extra experience should provide you with several Mastery Points to experiment with, although you'll still need to rank up your Knowledge to unlock more skills.
