*R.E.P.O.*, the co-op horror game that launched in February, has captured the attention of gamers, boasting over 200,000 players on PC. However, fans eager to know if *R.E.P.O.* will make its way to consoles might be disappointed.

Is R.E.P.O. Coming to Consoles?

As of now, *R.E.P.O.* is not slated for a console release, and it may well remain exclusive to PC. The game's developer, semiwork, has not hinted at any plans for a console version. Currently, their focus is on refining the game's multiplayer experience, which has encountered some challenges.

The primary hurdle they face is improving the multiplayer mechanics without making *R.E.P.O.* a target for cheaters. "The main issue with matchmaking lobbies is hackers. But the issue with an anti-cheat system is that you’re ruining the experience for everyone who has made mods, because mods don’t work with an anti-cheat system. And we don’t want that," the developer explained to PCGamer. This issue needs resolution before any thoughts of a console port can be entertained.

While some PC-only games like *Mouthwashing* have successfully transitioned to consoles, it's worth noting that *Mouthwashing* is a single-player game, which simplifies the porting process. Other similar titles like *Lethal Company* and *Content Warning*, which also involve sneaking past monsters, have stayed PC-exclusive. Last year, the developers of *Content Warning* mentioned considering a console release but cited technical difficulties. Since then, there has been no further update on a console version.

So, the current stance on whether *R.E.P.O.* will come to consoles is clear: the developer has not shown any interest in pursuing a console release and is instead concentrating on enhancing the multiplayer aspects of the PC version.
