How to Respec Your Character in Avowed (& When You Should)

Starting a new game can be tricky; it’s hard to know exactly what playstyle will suit you best. Respeccing allows you to fix mistakes and refine your character as you play. Whether you're pivoting from a pure wizard to a spellsword, or simply fine-tuning your build for maximum effectiveness in combat, respeccing is your key to unlocking your ideal Avowed experience. Later in the game, respeccing can be crucial for optimizing your battle performance and achieving your desired build.

How to Respec Your Abilities in Avowed

To respec your abilities, open the menu and go to the "Abilities" section. Near the bottom, you'll find a "Reset Points" option. The initial cost is 100 Copper Skeyt, increasing with further use. Select the option, confirm your choice, and pay the cost. This resets all your ability points across all skill trees except "Godlike" abilities, which are acquired through in-game choices.

How to Respec Your Attributes in Avowed

Happy with your abilities but not your attributes? Or perhaps you want a complete overhaul? Navigate to the "Character" section of the menu. At the bottom, below your attribute listings, you'll find a button to reset your attribute points. Similar to ability respeccing, this incurs a cost (starting at 100 Copper Skeyt) that increases over time. Press the button, pay the price, and redistribute your attributes as desired.
