Hazelight Games is celebrating a remarkable launch for their latest co-op adventure, Split Fiction, which has sold an impressive 2 million copies within just one week of its release. The game, featuring a dual-protagonist storyline, became available on March 6 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S platforms, quickly establishing itself as another triumph for the studio. Hazelight expressed their gratitude on social media, noting they were "blown away" by the enthusiastic response from both new and returning fans.

The game's initial sales momentum was evident when it achieved 1 million sales within the first 48 hours of its launch. This rapid success continued, with another million copies sold in the following five days.

Split Fiction leverages a cooperative gameplay model, meaning the total number of players experiencing the game is likely much higher than the sales figures suggest. The game's Friend's Pass feature enhances its reach, allowing a single purchase to grant a friend free access to the game. As Split Fiction continues to generate buzz on social media, its sales are expected to grow even further.

Hazelight's previous title, It Takes Two, which won Game of the Year in 2021, also saw significant success. It sold around 1 million copies shortly after its launch in March 2021, eventually reaching 10 million copies by February 2023 and an astounding 20 million by October 2024.
