"Strategies to Defeat and Capture Ebony Odogaron in Monster Hunter Wilds"

In *Monster Hunter Wilds*, your journey through the Ruins of Wyveria will lead you to confront the formidable Ebony Odogaron, the guardian of this ancient locale and one of the swiftest creatures you'll encounter in the game. Here's how to tackle this challenging beast effectively.
Monster Hunter Wilds Ebony Odogaron Boss Fight Guide
Known Habitats: Ruins of Wyveria
Breakable Parts: Head, Tail, and Legs
Recommended Elemental Attack: Water
Effective Status Effects: Poison (2x), Sleep (2x), Paralysis (3x), Blastblight (2x), Stun (2x), Exhaust (-)
Effective Items: Pitfall Trap, Shock Trap, Flash Pod
Stun the Monster
Ebony Odogaron's speed can be overwhelming, making it a formidable challenge for many hunters. To mitigate this, you can stun the monster using a Flashfly found nearby or by crafting Flash Pods. These tools will give you precious moments to attack without the monster retaliating.
Bring Teammates
Facing Ebony Odogaron alone can leave you constantly dodging its swift attacks. To make the fight more manageable, consider bringing teammates. Use SOS signals to call for help; if no players respond, NPCs can act as valuable distractions, allowing you to focus on evasion and counterattacks.
Pull Down Entangled Rocks
During the battle, you'll find Entangled Rocks hanging above certain areas. Use your slinger to bring them down, stunning Ebony Odogaron for a few seconds. This can be done once per fight, and you can further immobilize the monster with Pitfall and Shock Traps.
Beware of Dragonblight
Ebony Odogaron can inflict Dragonblight, which hampers your ability to deal elemental or status damage. To counteract this, carry Nulberries or equip decorations with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance to maintain your offensive capabilities.
Inflict Paralysis
Paralysis is highly effective against Ebony Odogaron, immobilizing it temporarily and making the fight significantly easier. If you can knock the monster down near roots, it might get further entangled, giving you more time to attack.
Aim for the Head
The head is Ebony Odogaron's most vulnerable spot, with a 3-star weakness. Targeting it maximizes your damage output, though it puts you at risk. Alternatively, aim for the forelegs and tail to break these parts, albeit with less damage.

How to Capture Ebony Odogaron in Monster Hunter Wilds
To capture Ebony Odogaron, deploy a Pitfall or Shock Trap when its health is reduced to 20 percent or less. Ensure the monster is sufficiently weakened; otherwise, the tranquilizer won't work, and it will break free, forcing you to continue the fight.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
