Indus, India's homegrown battle royale game, has reached another significant milestone: over 11 million pre-registrations. This follows the recent introduction of a new 4v4 deathmatch mode and an enhanced audio experience within the closed beta.

The 4v4 deathmatch mode joins the existing battle royale features, including the unique Grudge system that rewards players for engaging rivals. Indus, initially announced in 2022, has undergone several beta phases, steadily adding features and attracting a large player base. This growth is promising, given India's expanding mobile gaming market.

Targeting the Indian Market

While the 11 million pre-registrations are impressive, the growth rate has slowed compared to previous periods. The game surpassed 10 million registrations in March 2024. Although a million new registrations is substantial, it's not the explosive growth seen earlier.

Anticipation for Indus's public release remains high. While new features are appreciated, the speculated late 2023 launch didn't materialize. Hopefully, 2024 will bring a full release or at least a public beta.
