As reported by Eurogamer on December 20th, Ubisoft quietly launched Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E., a top-down multiplayer arcade shooter demanding cryptocurrency for gameplay.

According to Eden Online, the game expands the universe of Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, the Netflix series. The game and series incorporate popular Ubisoft franchises, including Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed.

Limited Access and Citizen ID Cards

This competitive online multiplayer experience is capped at 10,000 players. Access requires purchasing a Citizen ID Card, an NFT that tracks player achievements and rankings, evolving based on in-game performance.

To acquire a card, players need a crypto wallet and must purchase an NFT Niji Warrior ID card from Ubisoft's dedicated claim page for $25.63. Citizens can relinquish their citizenship and resell their IDs, potentially increasing their value based on in-game success.

Full launch is slated for Q1 2025, according to Ubisoft's Magic Eden page, but early access is available to those who secured IDs early.
