This guide details how to locate and utilize the three merchants in Valheim: Haldor (Black Forest), Hildir (Meadows), and the Bog Witch (Swamp). Their locations are procedurally generated, making them challenging to find without assistance.

Finding Valheim's Merchants

Valheim's merchants offer unique and valuable items, significantly enhancing gameplay. However, their randomized spawn locations present a significant challenge. While exploration is rewarding, utilizing the Valheim World Generator (created by wd40bomber7) provides a faster method to pinpoint their locations using your world seed.

Haldor (Black Forest Merchant)

Haldor, often found within 1500m of the world center, is generally the easiest merchant to locate. He typically spawns near The Elder's spawn point, identifiable via glowing ruins in Burial Chambers. Once found, build a portal for easy access. He accepts gold, readily obtained by selling gems and other materials.

Hildir (Meadows Merchant)

Hildir resides in the Meadows, but her spawn is significantly further from the world center (3000-5100m radius). The World Generator is highly recommended. A T-Shirt icon appears on the map when you're within 300-400m. She offers clothing with stamina reduction buffs and unique quests. Completing these quests unlocks additional inventory.

Hildir's inventory is extensive, featuring various clothing items with stamina reduction and farming skill bonuses. Many items are unlocked by returning her lost chests obtained from completing her quests in different biomes. The table below shows example items and their unlock conditions. The Bog Witch (Swamp Merchant)

The Bog Witch, located in the Swamp biome (3000-8000m from the world center), is the most challenging merchant to find. Her Cauldron icon appears on the map when nearby. She offers crafting ingredients for unique foods and meads.
