The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 premieres May 4, 2025, as exclusively revealed at IGN Fan Fest 2025.

IGN unveiled an exclusive clip and interview featuring Scott Gimple (chief content officer of The Walking Dead universe), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) during Fan Fest 2025 Day 2.

Cohan described Maggie's mental state entering Season 2: "Sadly, not everything is rosy. My son's a teenager, creating typical family tensions. Add Ginny, a teenage girl in my care, to the mix, and you have relatable family dynamics playing out against the backdrop of an apocalyptic world where survival is a daily struggle. That's our starting point before the next big threat emerges."

Jeffrey Dean Morgan discussed Negan's predicament: "Negan's firmly under the thumb of The Dama and The Croat, in unfamiliar territory. He'll scheme to regain control, but he's in a tough spot, struggling at the season's start." He also reflected on Lucille, his iconic barbed-wire bat: "Lucille? I love it! It's the only prop I've enjoyed carrying around. It brings back fond memories—though not for Lauren!"

Gimple teased the Season 2 conflict: "There's no single big bad. Power dynamics shift constantly. It's less antagonistic, more complex and political, before things get physical."
