Microsoft has officially announced the initial wave of games coming to Xbox Game Pass in May 2025.

Through an Xbox Wire blog post, Microsoft unveiled 12 titles joining the subscription service before May 20. The standout release is undoubtedly Doom: The Dark Ages, the newest installment in id Software's legendary first-person shooter franchise. As a Microsoft-owned title, it will debut on Game Pass immediately upon release. But it's not the only major day-one launch coming to the service this month.

Available starting today, May 6, is Dredge (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) for Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard subscribers. Microsoft describes the game as:

Dredge offers a haunting single-player fishing experience with dark undertones. Sell your catches to upgrade your vessel while uncovering disturbing secrets from the deep. Navigate through mysterious islands and decide whether some discoveries should remain buried.

May 7 brings several exciting additions: Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (Cloud, Console, PC) across all tiers; Dungeons of Hinterberg (Console) for Standard subscribers; Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn (Xbox Series X|S) now on Standard; and Metal Slug Tactics (Console) also joining Game Pass Standard.

Another major highlight arrives on May 8 - Revenge of the Savage Planet (Cloud, PC, Xbox Series X|S) debuts day-one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

In this dystopian future warped by corporate excess, you've been discarded on the fringes of space with minimal equipment. Explore every corner of this alien world, gather upgrades, and investigate mysterious phenomena if you hope to exact vengeance on your former employer and find your way back home.

Also launching May 8 is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed (Cloud, Console, PC), available across all subscription tiers.

Step into the shoes of New York's favorite reptile heroes in this action-packed adventure. With April's investigative reports and Splinter's wisdom guiding you, prepare for an epic battle against crime and chaos across the city.

Coming May 13 is Warhammer: Vermintide 2 (Cloud, Console) for Ultimate and Standard members.

Returning to Game Pass with enhanced content, this 4-player co-op adventure pits you against Chaos and Skaven forces. Enjoy expanded career paths, new weapons, improved loot systems, and more in this gripping Warhammer Fantasy experience.

The month's centerpiece arrives May 15: Doom: The Dark Ages (Cloud, PC, Xbox Series X|S) launches day-one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

This prequel to Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal explores the Slayer's dark medieval origins. Experience cinematic storytelling combined with signature brutal combat against Hell's forces. The Premium Upgrade offers early access and additional content.

May 16 introduces Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo (Cloud, Console, PC), another day-one title for Ultimate and PC Game Pass members.

The May lineup concludes on the 20th with Firefighting Simulator: The Squad and Police Simulator: Patrol Officers (both Cloud, Console, PC), available across all subscription tiers.
