Tute Cabrero: A Thrilling South American Card Game
Tute Cabrero, a beloved card game in South America, pits 3 to 5 players against each other in a free-for-all competition. The goal? Accumulate the most (or fewest, depending on the variation) points; second place is the loser. The game utilizes a standard 40-card Spanish deck.
Card values, from highest to lowest, are: Ace (11 points), 3 (10 points), King (4 points), Knight (3 points), Jack (2 points), 7, 6, 5, 4, and 2 (worth zero points).
Gameplay involves following suit: the first card played establishes the lead suit, and subsequent players must follow if possible. If a player lacks the lead suit, any card may be played. Trump always wins the trick; otherwise, the highest card of the lead suit prevails.
