As if they could resist bringing back Alicia Silverstone in her iconic yellow and plaid ensemble. The beloved actress is reportedly set to reprise her role as Cher Horowitz in an exciting new sequel series for Peacock.

According to Variety, the series is in development, though plot details are closely guarded. What we know so far is that Silverstone will star, the show will continue the story from the beloved 1995 film, and it boasts an impressive creative team. This project marks a fresh start, distinct from the Clueless spin-off Peacock was planning in 2020.

The writing team includes Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, known for their work on the original Gossip Girl series and its reboot, along with Jordan Weiss. They will also serve as executive producers alongside Amy Heckerling, the original writer-director of Clueless, and Robert Lawrence, the film's original producer. CBS Studios and Universal Television are on board to produce the series.

This isn't the first time Clueless has been adapted for television. Following the success of the 1995 film, a TV version aired on ABC and UPN from 1996 to 1999, with Rachel Blanchard taking on the role of Cher instead of Silverstone.

Silverstone's recent return to her Clueless character in a 2023 Super Bowl commercial for Rakuten shows her eagerness to step back into Cher's world. Fans can't wait to see what new adventures await Cher and her friends in this eagerly anticipated series.
