Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Receives Classic Modes and Map, Plus Post-Launch Updates

Following its recent release, Black Ops 6 is adding two highly-anticipated game modes and a beloved map. Treyarch, the developer, announced via Twitter (X) that the popular "Infected" mode will launch on Thursday, followed by the iconic Nuketown map on Friday, November 1st.

Infected, a staple in the Call of Duty franchise, pits survivors against zombie-like opponents controlled by other players. Nuketown, originally featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010), is a classic multiplayer map set in a 1950s-themed nuclear test site. Activision previously confirmed plans for regular post-launch content additions. Black Ops 6 initially launched with 11 standard multiplayer modes, including variations with disabled Scorestreaks and a Hardcore mode.

Black Ops 6 Update Addresses Multiple Issues

A recent update addressed several post-launch issues affecting both multiplayer and Zombies modes. Improvements include increased XP and weapon XP rates in various game modes (Team Deathmatch, Control, Search & Destroy, and Gunfight). Activision stated they are actively monitoring XP rates across all modes. The update also resolved several bugs, including:

• Global: Resolved issues with loadout highlighting, Bailey's Operator menu animation, and the "Mute Licensed Music" setting functionality.
• Maps: Fixed exploits allowing players to leave the designated play areas on Babylon, Lowtown, and Red Card maps. Red Card also received stability improvements. General in-game interaction stability was also addressed.
• Multiplayer: Addressed matchmaking issues preventing quick player replacements, fixed a Private Match forfeit bug, and resolved an issue with continuous Dreadnought missile sounds.

While some issues, such as player death upon loadout selection in Search & Destroy, remain, developers Treyarch and Raven Software are actively working on resolving them. Despite these minor post-launch hiccups, Black Ops 6 is receiving positive feedback, particularly for its enjoyable campaign.
