What Class Should You Choose in Citizen Sleeper 2?
Choosing Your Path in Citizen Sleeper 2: A Class Guide
Citizen Sleeper 2 presents players with three distinct starting classes: Operator, Machinist, and Extractor. The optimal choice hinges on your preferred playstyle. This guide offers insights into each class, considering both their abilities and roleplaying potential.
Operator

The Operator begins with a bonus in Interface, foundational levels in Intuit and Engage, and no Engineer skill. Endure is not a viable skill path. Their unique ability allows them to trade Stress for a re-roll of their lowest die.
While the Operator becomes more powerful with upgrades, the early game can prove challenging. The Interface skill is valuable, but the re-roll ability isn't always a guaranteed advantage. Roleplaying-wise, the Operator offers flexibility, adaptable to various character concepts.
Machinist

The Machinist starts with a bonus in Engineer, base levels in Interface and Intuit, and lacks Endure. Engage is unavailable for skill progression. Their ability lets them exchange Stress for a +2 bonus to their lowest die, further enhanced as the game progresses, also reducing Stress on positive outcomes.
The Machinist proved highly effective in my initial playthrough. The ability to mitigate Stress and boost dice rolls in crucial situations is invaluable, especially given the frequent need for Engineer and Interface checks. This class is ideal for players interested in the game's technical and mechanical aspects.
Extractor

The Extractor begins with a bonus in Endure, base levels in Engineer and Engage, and no Interface. Intuit is unavailable for skill development. Their ability allows them to spend Stress to add +2 to their crew's lowest die, an ability that significantly improves crew performance on Contracts.
The Extractor's ability to bolster crew performance is highly beneficial, mitigating contract risks. The starting bonus to Endure is also advantageous given its frequent use. However, the abundance of crew members skilled in Endure and Engage might lessen the class's unique advantage later in the game. This class suits players who prefer a more physically robust and crew-focused approach.
This concludes our comparison of the three classes in Citizen Sleeper 2. Choose wisely!
