According to Deadline, Warner Bros.' long-stagnant film Coyote vs. Acme might finally see its debut after all. Ketchup Entertainment, an independent production and distribution company based in Los Angeles, is reportedly deep in negotiations to acquire the completed project, which was earlier believed to have been abandoned entirely. While the deal remains unconfirmed, a theatrical release for Coyote vs. Acme is anticipated in 2026 if finalized.

Directed by James Gunn and starring Will Forte and John Cena, the film is adapted from Ian Frazier's 1990 New Yorker article of the same name. Initially set for release on Max in mid-2023, the project was shelved post-production. Fans have since been advocating for its revival, and Ketchup Entertainment’s recent acquisition of another Warner Bros. project suggests they are keen to give it a second chance.

Ketchup Entertainment previously salvaged Warner Bros.’ The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, ensuring its theatrical release in the U.S. The film marked the first fully-animated Looney Tunes movie to receive such treatment, earning praise from IGN for its humor. Other notable releases from the company include Hellboy: The Crooked Man, the Robert Rodriguez thriller Hypnotic starring Ben Affleck, and Michael Mann’s 2023 Ferrari biopic.
