Concurrently, Crytek revealed that development of the next Crysis game has been paused, a decision made in Q3 2024. The company is now fully focusing resources on Hunt: Showdown 1896.

Internal efforts to reassign staff to existing projects proved unsuccessful, necessitating the layoffs despite cost-cutting measures.
