The latest Star Wars Celebration unveiled exciting updates for the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction, featuring a new storyline with The Mandalorian and Grogu. Alongside the upcoming film, guests will visit Coruscant in addition to Tatooine, Bespin, and Endor in this choose-your-own-adventure experience. Engineers will also play a key role by caring for Grogu during the mission.

This Smuggler's Run update arrives on May 22, 2026. While it follows a different narrative path than The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, both Din Djarin and Grogu will appear in fresh, engaging ways. The story begins when Hondo Ohnaka intercepts intel about a shady deal on Tatooine involving ex-Imperial officers and pirates. This sparks a thrilling galaxy-wide pursuit, where guests join Mando and Grogu to track the targets and secure a bounty.

Although full details are still under wraps, the Engineer's role is significantly expanded this time—Grogu will be in their care, making the experience even more immersive and delightful.

To dive deeper, we spoke with Asa Kalama from Walt Disney Imagineering, who shared further insights.

"During the mission, Engineers will have opportunities to communicate with Grogu," Kalama explained. "We think it’ll be a blast. Picture this: Mando occasionally leaves the Razor Crest, and Grogu—left unsupervised—might get a bit playful with the controls. We’ve designed fun, interactive moments where you’re chatting with Grogu over the comm."

Regarding the choose-your-own-adventure element, Kalama noted a pivotal moment where "time is tight, and you must quickly decide which bounty to pursue. That decision becomes the catalyst, determining which destinations you explore across the galaxy."
