Square Enix's Foamstars Goes Free-to-Play Amid Splatoon 3 Rivalry
Square Enix has revealed plans to make its competitive 4v4 shooter Foamstars available as a free-to-play title beginning this autumn. Here's everything you need to know about the significant changes coming to the game.
Foamstars Goes Free Starting October 4
PlayStation Plus Subscription No Longer Mandatory
Square Enix confirmed today that their premium 4v4 shooter Foamstars will transition to a free-to-play model. As stated in their recent support page update, the game will also eliminate its PlayStation Plus requirement for access. Currently priced at $29.99 for PS4 and PS5 platforms, Foamstars will become completely free to download starting October 4, 2024, at 1:00 AM UTC.
Early adopters who purchased Foamstars before this transition will receive a special Legacy Gift package. This exclusive compensation includes:
