Take-Two Interactive Re-affirms Fall 2025 Release for Grand Theft Auto 6
Take-Two, Rockstar Games' parent company, has reiterated its commitment to a Fall 2025 release for Grand Theft Auto 6 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This confirmation comes following their third-quarter financial report (ending December 31, 2024). While acknowledging the inherent risk of delays, CEO Strauss Zelnick expressed confidence in the targeted release window.
In an interview with IGN, Zelnick emphasized Rockstar's dedication to perfection, stating that the company "feel[s] really good about it [Fall 2025]." He also highlighted the game's high anticipation both internally and externally, while remaining cautious about prematurely declaring success.
The GTA 6 release date remains a significant event in the gaming industry, influencing the release strategies of competitors. EA CEO Andrew Wilson recently indicated a potential delay for the next Battlefield game, hinting at the impact of GTA 6's release timing.
Despite the confirmed release window, the highly anticipated second trailer for GTA 6 is yet to be released, fueling much speculation among fans. Take-Two anticipates a strong 2025, with several high-profile releases including Civilization VII, PGA Tour 2K25, WWE 2K25, Mafia: The Old Country, and Borderlands 4, alongside GTA 6. The company expressed significant optimism about the commercial success of its upcoming titles and projected record-level net bookings for fiscal years 2026 and 2027.
