GTA 5 Star Predicts $1.3 Billion Opening Day Haul

Ned Luke, who voiced Michael De Santa in GTA 5, forecasts GTA 6 could generate $1.3 billion in its first day. Speaking to YouTube channel Fall Damage, Luke expressed confidence in Rockstar Games' ability to surprise players.

"What I tell people is, be patient. It's going to be worth the wait," Luke emphasized. He recalled GTA 5's $800 million launch day earnings in 2013, predicting the sequel will "blow those numbers away."

DFC Intelligence supports this projection, estimating GTA 6 could sell 40 million copies and earn $3.2 billion in its first year, including $1 billion from pre-orders alone.

Potential GTA 5 Character Returns

Luke discussed potential appearances for GTA 5's protagonists in the sequel. While Franklin and Trevor have appeared in GTA Online, Michael remains absent.

The actor teased Michael's potential return either in a rumored GTA Online finale or GTA 6. His co-star Steven Ogg (Trevor) previously joked about Trevor meeting an abrupt end in the sequel.

"Maybe they'll appear in GTA 6's online mode - maybe not," Luke said cautiously. "Rockstar keeps things close to their chest." Neither actor has received confirmation about reprising their roles.

GTA 6 Nearing Testing Phase

Former Rockstar animator Mike York suggested GTA 6 is undergoing internal testing. In a since-deleted Kiwi Talkz interview, York described the game breaking new ground:

"There are countless unpredictable scenarios that only emerge when millions of players experiment."

York believes development has reached polishing stages where "testers have likely completed playthroughs."

Since December 2023's trailer reveal, Rockstar has remained silent about GTA 6. Take-Two Interactive's 2024 financial report suggested a Fall 2025 launch window.
