Hideaki Nishino will become the sole CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), effective April 1, 2025. This announcement, part of a press release issued this evening, also reveals that Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki is being promoted to president and CEO of Sony Corporation, replacing Kenichiro Yoshida who held the position since April 2018. Lin Tao, SVP of finance, corporate development and strategy, will succeed Totoki as CFO.

Last year, SIE leadership was divided between Nishino and Hermen Hulst following Jim Ryan's retirement. Hulst led PlayStation Studios, while Nishino oversaw hardware and technology. This restructuring unites SIE leadership under Nishino, who will also lead the platform business group. Hulst will continue as head of PlayStation Studios.

Nishino, a Sony employee since 2000, previously served as SVP of the platform experience group. In a statement, he expressed his honor at assuming the CEO role, emphasizing SIE's commitment to technological innovation and creative experiences. He thanked Hermen Hulst for his contributions and expressed excitement for the future of PlayStation and its community, highlighting plans for IP expansion and technological advancements.
