Horror Icon Carpenter to Enhance 'Halloween' Franchise with Games
John Carpenter's Halloween Games: A Terrifying New Chapter

Get ready for a double dose of terror! Boss Team Games, celebrated for their work on Evil Dead: The Game, has announced two new video games based on the iconic Halloween franchise, with the legendary John Carpenter himself lending his creative expertise. This exciting collaboration promises to deliver a truly authentic and frightening gaming experience.

A Dream Collaboration
In an exclusive interview with IGN, Boss Team Games revealed their ambitious project, developed in partnership with Compass International Pictures and Further Front. Carpenter, a self-described gaming enthusiast, expressed his excitement about bringing the chilling world of Michael Myers to life in a new way. He aims to create a game that captures the essence of the films' terrifying atmosphere. The games, currently in early development using Unreal Engine 5, will allow players to revisit key moments from the films and step into the roles of beloved (and feared) characters. Boss Team Games CEO Steve Harris described the opportunity as a "dream come true."
While specifics remain scarce, the announcement has already ignited fervent anticipation among fans.
A Sparse Gaming History, A Rich Cinematic Legacy

The Halloween franchise, a cornerstone of horror cinema, boasts a surprisingly limited video game history. The only official game, a 1983 Atari 2600 release, is now a collector's item. Michael Myers has, however, made appearances in modern games as DLC, notably in Dead by Daylight, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and Fortnite.
The upcoming games' promise to feature "classic characters" strongly suggests the inclusion of both Michael Myers and Laurie Strode, creating the classic cat-and-mouse dynamic that defines the franchise.
The Halloween film series, spanning thirteen installments since 1978, includes:
⚫︎ Halloween (1978)
⚫︎ Halloween II (1981)
⚫︎ Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)
⚫︎ Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988)
⚫︎ Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989)
⚫︎ Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995)
⚫︎ Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998)
⚫︎ Halloween: Resurrection (2002)
⚫︎ Halloween (2007)
⚫︎ Halloween (2018)
⚫︎ Halloween Kills (2021)
⚫︎ Halloween Ends (2022)

Expert Hands, Enthusiastic Vision

Boss Team Games' proven success with Evil Dead: The Game demonstrates their mastery of the horror genre. Carpenter's passion for gaming, evident in past interviews where he discussed his enjoyment of titles like Dead Space, Fallout 76, and Assassin's Creed Valhalla, further assures fans of a truly authentic and immersive experience.
The combination of Boss Team Games' expertise and Carpenter's creative vision promises to deliver a chilling and unforgettable gaming experience. Stay tuned for more updates as development continues.
