Iansan: The New Bennett Replacement in Genshin Impact?

In the world of *Genshin Impact*, Bennett has long been celebrated as one of the most versatile and valuable characters, maintaining his utility since the game's inception. However, with the introduction of Iansan in Version 5.5, set to launch on March 26, many players are pondering whether she could be the new "Bennett replacement." Let's delve into how Iansan's abilities stack up against Bennett's and what this means for your team composition.

How Does Iansan’s Kit Compare to Bennett’s in Genshin Impact?

Iansan, a 4-Star Electro Polearm user from Natlan, steps into the game as a support character, much like Bennett. Her primary role involves enhancing team damage and providing healing. Her Elemental Burst, The Three Principles of Power, functions similarly to Bennett’s by offering ATK buffs, but with a twist. Instead of a stationary field, Iansan summons a Kinetic Energy Scale that follows the active character and boosts ATK based on her Nightsoul Points.

The mechanics of Iansan's buff system are intriguing. If she has less than 42 out of a possible 54 Nightsoul Points, the ATK bonus scales with both her Nightsoul Points and her ATK. At 42 or more Nightsoul Points, the bonus scales solely off her ATK, encouraging players to focus on building her ATK stats. Moreover, the active character needs to move to keep the buff active, with the scale logging distance traveled to restore Nightsoul Points to Iansan.

When it comes to healing, Bennett outshines Iansan. Bennett's field can heal up to 70% of a character's HP, whereas Iansan's healing capabilities are less potent, and she cannot heal herself. Additionally, Bennett's C6 constellation offers Pyro infusion to Normal Attacks, a feature Iansan lacks with Electro.

Iansan does bring unique exploration benefits. She can use Nightsoul Points to sprint and jump further without consuming stamina, which can be advantageous during exploration. However, for teams focused on Pyro, Bennett remains superior due to Elemental Resonance providing a +25% ATK buff and Pyro infusion.

Bennett raises his fist triumphantly.

Should You Choose Iansan or Bennett in Genshin Impact?

Iansan and Bennett share many similarities, leading some to call her his "long-lost sister." However, rather than replacing Bennett, Iansan offers a compelling alternative, especially for secondary teams in challenging content like the Spiral Abyss. Her Kinetic Scale encourages dynamic movement, a refreshing change from the static positioning required by Bennett’s field, humorously referred to as "Circle Impact" by the community.

If you're interested in experimenting with Iansan, you'll have the opportunity during Phase I of *Genshin Impact* Version 5.5, starting March 26. As *Genshin Impact* continues to evolve, both Bennett and Iansan will undoubtedly find their places in the diverse team compositions players create.
