KonoSuba: Fantastic Days, the popular RPG by Sesisoft, is ending its service on January 30th, 2025. After nearly five years, both the global and Japanese servers will shut down simultaneously. However, there's a potential bright spot: developers are exploring the possibility of a limited offline version, allowing players to revisit the main storyline, major quests, and events. Further details on this offline version are yet to be announced.

Regarding in-game purchases, the in-app store was disabled on October 31st, 2024. However, existing Quartz and other in-game items remain usable until the service ends. Players who are eligible for refunds on unused Quartz or unclaimed purchases from early 2024 can apply for them until January 30th, 2025. Official channels will close on February 28th, 2025.

KonoSuba: Fantastic Days, first launched in Japan in February 2020 and globally in August 2021, was the first mobile game based on the KonoSuba franchise. The game offered a charming story, appealing visuals, and an engaging visual novel-style story mode, set in a world threatened by the Devil King's army. Unfortunately, like many gacha RPGs, it's succumbed to the challenges of maintaining player engagement and the high costs of continued development. Many anime-based games have faced similar fates this year.
