No Man's Sky's Solanium: Location, Farming, and Crafting Guide

Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusively found on planets with specific climates. This guide details how to acquire Solanium through gathering, farming, and crafting.

Locating Solanium

Solanium is similar to Frost Crystals, but thrives in hot, arid environments. When in space, scan planets for descriptions like "Arid," "Incandescent," "Boiling," or "Scorched." The presence of Solanium will be indicated in the scan results.

Upon landing, use your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines – tall, rock-like structures with glowing vines. These grow in clusters and require a Haz-Mat Gauntlet for harvesting. Phosphorus, also often found on these planets, is a key ingredient in Solanium crafting.

Farming Solanium

Once you've progressed the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can cultivate Solar Vines. Plant them in a Hydroponic Tray or Bio-Dome using 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. Hot planets allow direct ground planting. Harvesting takes about 16 real-time hours.

Crafting Solanium

Several Refiner recipes produce Solanium, most requiring Phosphorus (obtained from hot planets or traders). Here are the recipes:

• Solanium + Phosphorus (to produce more Solanium)
• Phosphorus + Oxygen
• Phosphorus + Sulphurine
• Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine

Note: All crafting methods, including those using Sulphurine, necessitate a visit to a hot planet. Establishing a Phosphorus farm at your base provides a consistent Sulphurine supply.
