Microsoft Unveils Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Wave 2 Additions

Microsoft's Xbox Wire preempts their January 23rd Xbox Developer Direct with a sneak peek at the January 2025 Wave 2 Game Pass lineup. This wave includes several day-one Game Pass titles, including Doom: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and a yet-to-be-revealed fourth game.

The lineup begins January 21st with Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), a day-one release on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. This snowy sequel to Lonely Mountains: Downhill features up to eight-player cross-platform multiplayer.

January 22nd brings a flurry of additions:

• Flock (Console) joins Game Pass Standard, offering cooperative multiplayer flight and creature collection.
• Gigantic: Rampage Edition (Cloud, Console, and PC) arrives on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard, delivering a 5v5 MOBA hero shooter experience.
• Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess (Console) launches on Game Pass Standard, a unique Japanese-inspired action strategy game.
• Magical Delicacy (Console) and The Case of the Golden Idol (Console) also debut on Game Pass Standard.
• Tchia (Xbox Series X|S) makes its Game Pass Standard appearance.
• Starbound (Cloud and Console) expands its Game Pass presence to Ultimate and Standard, having already launched on PC Game Pass.

Continuing the wave, January 28th sees the day-one release of:

• Eternal Strands (Cloud, Console, and PC) on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, a fantasy action-adventure from Yellow Brick Games.
• Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, a third-person shooter and trap defense game.

January 29th brings Shady Part of Me (Cloud, Console, and PC) to Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard, an emotional journey with stunning visuals.

A significant addition on January 30th is the day-one release of Sniper Elite: Resistance (Cloud, Console, and PC) on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, offering co-op gameplay in occupied France.

Rounding out the month, January 31st features the day-one release of Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, the sequel to the acclaimed 2022 RPG.

Finally, Far Cry New Dawn (Cloud, Console, and PC) joins Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard on February 4th.

Xbox Game Pass Departures (January 31st, 2025):

Several titles will be leaving Game Pass on January 31st, including Anuchard, Broforce Forever, Darkest Dungeon, Death’s Door, Maquette, and Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem. All platforms affected are listed in the original announcement.
