在玩家们热烈欢迎《我的世界》更频繁的小型更新之际，Mojang似乎正在预告游戏的下一个补丁中将加入另一项重大功能。官方Minecraft推特账号发布了一张Lodestone图片，并配以两块石头和两个侧目表情符号。虽然对大多数人来说，这只是一张普通的石头图片，但推文的替代文本确认了这实际上是一块Lodestone。然而，工作室究竟想通过Lodestone暗示什么，仍然众说纷纭。

目前，《我的世界》中的Lodestone方块只有一个用途：允许用户改变指南针的方向，使其始终指向Lodestone。Lodestone方块可在三个维度使用，可以通过宝箱获取或由玩家使用凿过的石头砖和下界合金锭合成。该方块包含在《我的世界》1.16补丁（即下界更新）中，此后一直没有改动。但这种情况似乎即将改变。
