Netflix is developing a live-action Dungeons & Dragons series based in the Forgotten Realms setting, according to a report by Deadline. The project is spearheaded by Shawn Levy (director of Deadpool and The Adam Project), alongside writer-showrunner Drew Crevello (WeCrashed) and Hasbro. This Forgotten Realms setting served as the backdrop for the recent film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and the hugely successful video game Baldur's Gate 3. Deadline describes this potential adaptation as one of Netflix's most significant investments in the fantasy genre to date. Crevello has reportedly written the pilot and will serve as showrunner, though Netflix and Hasbro have yet to officially comment.
