Nicolas Cage Slams AI Actors, Defends Human Emotion
Nicolas Cage has issued a stark warning against the use of artificial intelligence in acting, asserting that actors who allow AI to influence their performances are heading towards "a dead end." He believes robots are incapable of truly reflecting the human condition.
During his Saturn Awards acceptance speech for Best Actor (Dream Scenario), Cage used the platform to express his concerns about AI's encroachment on the art of acting. He emphasized the importance of human emotion and thoughtfulness in artistic creation, arguing that AI-generated performances lack authenticity and heart. He stated that allowing AI to manipulate performances, even slightly, will ultimately lead to a prioritization of financial gain over artistic integrity.
The filmmaking community is also divided on the issue. While Tim Burton expressed unease with AI-generated art, Zack Snyder advocates for embracing AI's potential in filmmaking.
