Ninja Gaiden 4, the highly anticipated sequel in the popular action series, was a major highlight of the Developer_Direct showcase, alongside the reveal of DOOM: The Dark Ages. Scheduled for a Fall 2025 release, the game promises a thrilling return to the iconic ninja Ryu Hayabusa.

The debut trailer showcased intense, action-packed combat, characteristic of the franchise. Ninja Gaiden 4 introduces innovative gameplay mechanics, including swift traversal using wires and rails, as demonstrated in the gameplay footage.

The game's setting is a striking cyberpunk metropolis perpetually shrouded in toxic rain. Players will confront waves of genetically-modified soldiers and terrifying creatures from another realm, all while striving to break an ancient curse plaguing the megacity.

Further enhancing the announcement, a significant remaster of Ninja Gaiden 2 was also unveiled. Already available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S (and included in Game Pass), this updated version leverages the Unreal Engine 5. The remaster boasts completely overhauled character models, visual effects, and environments, incorporating elements from later installments in the series, and excitingly adding three new playable characters.

Koei Tecmo's extensive work on both the sequel and the remaster deserves significant praise from the gaming community.
