Following the announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2, it seems the collaboration between Nintendo and Xbox remains strong. Phil Spencer, the head of gaming at Microsoft, recently emphasized his commitment to the Switch platform as a means to connect with players who aren’t part of the Xbox ecosystem.

During an interview with Variety, Spencer was questioned about potential exclusive projects for the Nintendo Switch 2. He reiterated Microsoft’s ongoing dedication to supporting Nintendo, stating, “Nintendo has been a great partner. It’s a unique way for us to reach players who aren’t on PC or Xbox.”

Spencer highlighted the importance of growing their gaming community through partnerships with Nintendo. “Getting support from Nintendo for our franchises is crucial for our future,” he added.

Previously, Spencer expressed admiration for Nintendo’s innovations surrounding the Switch 2. He confirmed that Xbox games will continue to be available on multiple platforms, including PlayStation, Steam, and Nintendo consoles.

Although asked if the Switch 2 unveiling sparked anticipation for Xbox’s upcoming console announcements, Spencer remained focused on their existing plans. “I believe in what we’re doing,” he stated. “We aim to deliver games wherever possible—on cloud, PC, and consoles.”

Notable titles like Pentiment and Grounded have already transitioned to Nintendo platforms, and it will be intriguing to see what Xbox brings to the Switch 2 upon its release.
