Following the abrupt cancellation of Project KV on September 8th, a dedicated group of fans has launched Project VK, a non-profit, community-driven game. Studio Vikundi, the team behind Project VK, released a statement on Twitter (X) the same day Project KV was shut down.

The statement emphasized the project's independent nature, clarifying that while inspired by Project KV, it is entirely original and unrelated to Blue Archive or its predecessor. They addressed concerns about unprofessional conduct from the Project KV team, promising a different approach built on transparency and respect for existing copyrights. The statement highlighted the project's non-profit status and the team's commitment to fulfilling fan expectations.

Project KV's cancellation stemmed from significant online criticism regarding its close resemblance to Blue Archive, a game some of its developers previously worked on at Nexon Games. Accusations of plagiarism encompassed various aspects, from visual style and music to the core concept – a city populated by armed female students.
