The ESRB has updated the rating for Resident Evil 6, maintaining its Mature 17+ rating but adding the Xbox Series X|S as a new platform. This suggests an upcoming release for current-gen consoles.

Initially released in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and remastered in 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, this new version is likely also coming to PlayStation 5. While details are scarce, a notable difference is the genre description. Previous listings categorized it as a "third-person shooter," while the new ESRB entry calls it "survival horror." Further information is expected soon.

Beyond this potential remaster, anticipation is high for Resident Evil 9, rumored to be set four years after Resident Evil Village.
