The critically acclaimed and wildly successful TV adaptation of *The Last of Us* has already been greenlit for Season 3, even before Season 2 officially began production. However, fans are now asking the burning question: will there be a Season 4? According to showrunner Craig Mazin, it's not just possible—it's likely necessary.

In an interview with *Collider*, Mazin explained that trying to wrap up the entire narrative from both Naughty Dog-developed video games within just three seasons would make Season 3 "take forever." While Season 3 may be longer than Season 2—a "decent chance," according to Mazin"—it still wouldn't be enough to fully conclude the story.

He added: "There’s no way to complete this narrative in a third season." Instead, Mazin expressed confidence in the show’s future, stating, "Hopefully, we’ll earn our keep enough to come back and finish it in a fourth. That’s the most likely outcome."
