"Shrek 5's New Look Sparks Debate, Even Sonic Weighs In"
Shrek 5 has unveiled its all-new cast along with a brand-new teaser trailer, sparking a mix of reactions, including from Movie Sonic, who's unsure about Shrek's new appearance.
In a humorous video shared on TikTok, the Sonic Movie account offered "advice for green ogres," playfully comparing Movie Sonic's own transformation from his initially criticized live-action design to the more favorably received version released months later.

The initial reveal of Sonic's design sparked a mix of fascination and criticism, particularly regarding his teeth, physique, small eyes, and human-like fingers.
In response to the backlash, director Jeff Fowler opted to revise the controversial design, promising a more authentic portrayal of the character. The updated design was much better received by fans and critics alike.
Although the reaction to Shrek's new look in Shrek 5 isn't as divisive as Sonic's initial live-action appearance, Sonic's playful response has entertained fans.
"You know it's bad when you see the Sonic Movie account giving Shrek 5 advice," one commenter noted, while another exclaimed, "No way they actually posted this," accompanied by a crying emoji.
The fifth installment of the Shrek franchise was first announced in 2016, but it remained in limbo until Chris Meledandri, CEO of Illumination, confirmed its active development in 2023, also expressing interest in a Donkey spin-off. Universal Pictures has shifted Shrek 5's release date to December 23, 2026, while placing the Despicable 3 spin-off, Minions 3, in its previously scheduled slot.-
