“岩田先生也参与了‘任天堂明星大乱斗’这个名字的构思。我们团队成员提出了一系列可能的名称和词语，”樱井政博在视频中详细介绍道。然后，他们与《地球冒险》系列的创造者糸井重里先生举行了一次会议，最终确定了游戏系列的名称。樱井政博补充道：“岩田先生选择了‘兄弟’这个词。他的理由是，即使这些角色根本不是兄弟，使用这个词也增加了这样的细微差别：他们并非只是在战斗——他们是朋友，正在解决一些小摩擦！”
