索尼提出的一个实施方案是借助VR设备或头戴式显示器(HMD)。索尼详细说明：“在某些实施例中，HMD通过有线或无线连接连接到用户设备，例如个人电脑、游戏机或其他计算设备。在某些实施例中，用户设备渲染通过HMD显示的图形，为用户提供虚拟环境的沉浸式观看体验。”
索尼进一步提出，一个用户设备可以通过网络与游戏服务器上的另一个用户设备无缝通信。索尼表示：“在某些实施例中，游戏服务器执行视频游戏的共享会话，维护视频游戏及其虚拟环境的规范状态，并且用户设备关于虚拟环境的状态与之同步。”
通过这种设置，用户可以在共享网络或服务器上共享同一个虚拟环境（即游戏）并进行互动。索尼还补充说，在该系统的某些实施例中，游戏服务器可以是云游戏系统的一部分，该系统可以在每个用户设备之间“渲染和流式传输视频”。
