They've shared the inspirations fueling the faction's design, the evolution from "Inferno" to "Swarm" (or vice versa), and the unfolding narrative on the continent of Jadame.

The Swarm's standout feature is its adaptability to foes, with some creatures' abilities scaling based on the level of the opposing unit. The wider the gap between the Swarm unit and its target, the more devastating the damage. Other creatures, like mantises, offer strategic flexibility by choosing from three distinct abilities each round. Additionally, creatures such as worms and locusts can consume fallen bodies to heal and boost their strength—a trait that heroes can also master.

In Olden Era, the role traditionally filled by demons is now occupied by an insectoid race, previously hinted at in Might & Magic 8. The developers have crafted the Swarm with a nod to the original lore while infusing elements of body horror and occultism.
