"Tribe Nine Reveals EOS Decision Shortly After Global Launch"
Akatsuki Games has announced the end-of-service (EOS) for their latest game, Tribe Nine. Launched on Android, iOS, and PC (Steam) just a few months ago in February, it's hard to believe the game is already facing its demise. Let's dive into the details and explore the reasons behind this decision.
When Is the Tribe Nine EOS?
Tribe Nine is officially shutting down on November 27th, 2025. Along with this disheartening news, Akatsuki Games has confirmed that Chapter 4 of the main story will not be released. This is particularly disappointing given that the game had recently teased significant plot developments. As of May 15th, all new updates, features, bug fixes, and content releases have been canceled, meaning no more adjustments or new features as previously announced in-game.
Furthermore, two characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, who were slated to join the roster, will no longer be added. Refunds will be issued for Paid Enigma Entities used on purchases like Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio, with refunds starting after the Revenio contract concludes.
Purchases of Enigma Entities and Daily Passes are now disabled through both the app and the web store. However, players can continue using their existing Enigma Entities until the official shutdown of Tribe Nine.
Why Did It Fail, So Soon?
Tribe Nine is a free-to-play extreme action RPG known for its unique style and engaging worldbuilding. Despite its quality, the game struggled from the start. A notably slow release schedule, with only one story chapter and one event in the first three months, likely contributed to player disengagement.
Additionally, the game's monetization model didn't incentivize spending. Players could build a strong team with a single pull and didn't need duplicates, which was great for players but challenging for the developers' revenue. The decision to implement a gacha system seems to have been a risky move that ultimately didn't pay off.
Despite its challenges, Tribe Nine remains available to play until November 27th, 2025. If you haven't tried it yet, you can check it out on the Google Play Store.
