In Assassin's Creed Shadows, legendary Sumi-E are unique ancient animal paintings that can be created by either Naoe or Yasuke while exploring the wild. A painting icon will appear on your compass and map when you're close to a subject. To paint, sneak up on the target by crouching and hold L2/LT to complete the artwork. Legendary Grey Heron – Winter, Daytime

The Grey Heron is located in Wakasa, near Lake Suigetsu, during winter daytime. Navigate to the western cluster of islands. Approach stealthily, dismounting your ride at a distance, and locate the painting opportunity. Crouch and slowly move in to complete the Sumi-E.

Legendary Macaque – All Seasons, Nighttime

Travel to the Yamashiro region and find the Little Leaf Glade sub-region. Visit the Sarumaru Shrine at night. Climb the stairs to the top where you'll find the three wise monkeys, ready to be painted.

Legendary Silver Fox – Autumn, Nighttime

In the Kii region, head to the Nakahechi Route sub-region during autumn nighttime. At the Kamimisu Inari Shrine, surrounded by fox statues, you'll find the legendary Silver Fox at the cliff's edge. Approach and paint the majestic creature.

Navigate to the Yamato region and the Yoshino sub-region during spring nighttime. Start from the Mountain Blossom Temple and head east along the path to reach Sakura Meadows. Climb the slopes to a clearing where the legendary Deer awaits to be added to your Sumi-E collection.
