Pity System in RAID Shadow Legends: Does It Work?
RAID: Shadow Legends is renowned for its RNG-based (random number generator) system, which can make summoning champions an exhilarating yet often frustrating experience. The thrill of pulling shards can quickly turn into disappointment when you go through dozens or even hundreds of pulls without securing a coveted Legendary champion. To mitigate this, Plarium introduced what the community refers to as the "Pity System." In this guide, we'll delve into the mechanics of this system, evaluate its effectiveness, and discuss its impact on free-to-play (F2P) and low-spender players.
What Is the Pity System in RAID: Shadow Legends?
The Pity System is a subtle mechanic designed to boost your chances of summoning higher rarity champions, specifically Epic and Legendary ones, the longer you go without pulling them. Essentially, if you experience a prolonged streak of bad luck, the game incrementally increases your odds until you finally land a desirable champion. This system aims to prevent extended "dry streaks" where players might summon numerous shards without obtaining a valuable champion. Although Plarium doesn't explicitly mention this mechanic in-game, it has been verified through datamining, developer statements, and extensive player feedback.

Sacred Shards
For Sacred Shards, the base chance of pulling a Legendary champion is 6% per pull. The Pity System activates after 12 pulls without a Legendary. From the 13th pull onward, your chances increase by 2% with each subsequent pull:
- 13th pull: 8% chance
- 14th pull: 10% chance
- 15th pull: 12% chance
Is the Pity System Helpful for the Average Player?
The effectiveness of the Pity System isn't straightforward. While it's designed to help, many players report that the system kicks in so late that they often pull a Legendary champion before reaching the pity threshold. This raises the question of how the system could be improved. The presence of a Pity System is undoubtedly beneficial, particularly in a gacha game like RAID: Shadow Legends.
For free-to-play players, the constant grind and farming for shards without landing a Legendary can be disheartening. The Pity System is essential, but it could be enhanced. For instance, reducing the pity threshold from 200 to 150 or 170 pulls could help players save more shards and feel the benefits of the system more tangibly.
To enhance your RAID: Shadow Legends experience, consider playing on a larger screen using a PC or laptop with a keyboard and mouse through BlueStacks for a more immersive and controlled gameplay experience.
